It's hard to believe it's August, incessant rain and cool temperatures makes it feels more like April. At this time of year here at Dandydill Way our thoughts turn to the annual Hawthorn Berry harvest. Last year was an exceptional year for Hawthorn berries in the UK, perfect conditions meant a bumper crop and harvesting plenty of these amazingly potent red berries was easy. According to our forager Liz it was the best year in living memory.
Of course we made hay (or rather Hawthorn berry extract) whilst the sun shone, ensuring plenty of stock for the future. Still, as our wonderful ingredient is made from a seasonal wild berry, hand picked in the unpredictable British Autumn we will, as usual, be making sure that we gather enough berries for our Dandydill Way products for the year ahead.
